Written Word Media is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Operations Assistant to support our mission of empowering independent authors and publishers. This role is ideal for someone who excels in customer support, administrative tasks, and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Training and Hours:

  • Training: Comprehensive training is provided for all candidates to ensure they are well-prepared for their responsibilities.
  • Work Hours: This position is part-time. We are looking for a commitment of approximately 10 hours per week, with the understanding that some weeks may require more or fewer hours based on department needs and deadlines.  
  • Location: This job is fully remote, however, candidates must be residents of North Carolina to be considered. 

Here’s what you will do:

  • Customer Support: Provide top-notch customer support to independent authors and publishers via email and live chat, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care.
  • Payment Processing: Review promotional bookings to ensure book information is accurate and meets our editorial standards before processing payments.
  • Operations Administrative Support: Assist with content creation, data entry, occasional email campaigns, and other administrative tasks as needed to support the operations team.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in all tasks, ensuring low error rates and efficient completion of duties.
  • Technology Utilization: Use various tech tools and platforms to manage tasks, including WordPress and social media, to support our operations and marketing efforts.

  • Have the ability to write in a professional email tone and strive to provide the best customer service experience to authors.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrate a track record of getting tasks done efficiently with minimal errors.
  • Be detail-oriented, organized, and attentive to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
  • Have a positive, team-oriented attitude, ready to collaborate and support team members as needed.
  • Possess excellent writing and editing skills, able to create clear and engaging content.
  • Be comfortable with technology and navigating various web platforms and tools.

Additional Useful Skills:

  • Prior experience in customer service roles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and social media platforms.
  • A love of books and reading, bringing a personal passion to the role
